They Don't Write Songs Like This Anymore
They Don't Write Songs Like This Anymore is a 4-track EP featuring the following songs.
My favourite genre of all is that 60s girl group / Motown sound - think The Shirelles, The Ronettes, The supremes and the like. SAdly, though, we very rarely hear that sort of music anymore unless you tune into one of the golden oldies radio stations.
I want to change that and produce some songs that bring back memories of that era - this EP is the first step in that mission.

1. They Don't Write Songs Like This Anymore
Title track and an audio lament that, simply put, they don't write songs like this anymore.
A catchy tune that will take you back to 1963 - you can see the film clip in your mind, can't you. Three beautifully dressed girls, singing in tight harmony, swaying in time in the music.
When did it become acceptable that lyrics can be obscene and the music have no melody?

2. On The Radio
The box-shaped transistor radio in your bedroom or, maybe, the valve-powered radio in the corner of the living room. The AM static, the interference when Mum turned on the iron, the slightly-tinny pre-FM tone.
They were the halcyon days of 60s rock and roll radio. I miss those days.

3. Be My Digital Boyfriend
This is, in part, a tribute to the man who gave me my start in recording, Artie Fishall from Artie Fishall & The Intelligence. The band's first single release was a catchy number called Digital Girlfriend.
In the spirit of It's Judy's Turn To Cry and Rak Off Normie, this is my "answer song" for Artie & the band. Maybe he'll be my digital boyfriend!
